Inspired by a nostalgic appreciation of the past but committed to expressing a thoroughly modern sensibility, Biko Jewelry needed a new visual identity to appeal to a style-conscious, 20-something clientele. I crafted a cohesive brand identity with a nuanced typeface for the simple four-lettered name, featuring a custom-reduced 'b' and a hand-drawn 'i' to balance elegance and modernity.
The accompanying symbol, combining crown and feather imagery, nods to traditional ornamentation while presenting a starkly modern black-and-white aesthetic. The website and look books I designed continue this theme with clean lines and minimalist layouts, creating an engaging presence. The tagline “Modern Nostalgia” encapsulates Biko’s blend of past and present, while the thoughtfully designed packaging provides a luxurious unboxing experience, ensuring a unified and compelling brand appeal.
